Journey Overview
The Tanzania Explorer is the most complete all year-round itinerary in this collection. All four northern parks covered at the right pace — Tarangire at two nights, Manyara at one full day, Ngorongoro at two nights with a full crater day, and the Serengeti at four nights across two zones. Nothing is rushed. Nothing is given less time than it warrants. The itinerary to build when a client asks: 'What does the complete northern circuit actually take?'

Arrival — Arusha
Arrive Kilimanjaro International. Transfer to Arusha area lodge.
Arusha to Tarangire
Tarangire National Park
Drive to Tarangire — two hours from Arusha. Afternoon game drive along the river. First elephant sightings typically within minutes of the gate.
Full Day — Tarangire
Tarangire National Park
Full day. Morning south toward Silale Swamp. Afternoon through the baobab groves. Exceptional birding and consistent large-mammal viewing throughout.
Tarangire to Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara National Park
Morning drive north to Lake Manyara. Afternoon through forest, acacia woodland, and lakeshore. Tree-climbing lion search in the afternoon.
Lake Manyara to Ngorongoro Highlands
Ngorongoro Conservation Area
Morning drive from Manyara to the Ngorongoro rim. Arrive early afternoon. Optional afternoon rim walk.
Full Day — Ngorongoro Crater
Early descent. Full day — black rhino, lion prides, flamingo, hippo pools, wildebeest and zebra in permanent residence. Picnic lunch. Return to the rim late afternoon.
Ngorongoro to Central Serengeti
Drive west into the Serengeti. Optional Olduvai Gorge stop. Afternoon game drive in the Seronera area.
Full Day — Central Serengeti
Full day in the central zone. Seronera Valley circuits, kopje country, open grassland. The most consistent predator zone in the park year-round.
Serengeti — Eastern Sector
Full day in the eastern Serengeti — Namiri Plains. Highest cheetah density in the park, minimal vehicle traffic, open sightlines.
Serengeti — Departure
Final morning drive. Fly from Seronera to Kilimanjaro or drive back to Arusha. Onward international connection.
